aYURVEDA & ME

I came to Ayurveda initially through my practice of Yoga, where it is regarded as the foundation of good living and the greatest science of self-care.

Ayurveda’s broad concept – living in harmony with nature’s cycles, understanding our relationship to it and to others – is a guide for optimal health and wellbeing, and it appealed to me instantly.

Raising a young family at the time, Ayurveda offered me practical, easy-to-apply guidelines – such as the use of natural remedies when my children suffered from common ailments. Adjusting their diet to warm food, adding ‘heating’ herbs, harmonizing their routine to the season… small changes for great benefits.

Ayurveda gave meaning and depth to ‘common sense’ practices that we know intuitively.  I became increasingly aware of the principles that governed such wisdom, and was able from then on to use them more purposefully and effectively.

Then Ayurveda offered me tremendous insights and life-changing tools to manage a digestive disorder, IBS.  I had never settled for the symptomatic relief treatment, so I turned again to Ayurveda’s focus on finding a root cause, eliminating it and re-balancing my digestive system through diet, the use of herbs, relaxation techniques and Yoga.

Ayurveda has interwoven itself very naturally and helpfully in my quest for a ‘philosophy of life’, deepening my passion for holistic wellness.  I also believe that knowledge is only useful if it is practiced and shared for your ‘service’, in the original Greek sense of ‘therapeia’ or healing. This is what led me to found Ayuwell to impart this beautiful ancient wisdom with practical knowledge that is more than ever relevant to us today.
